<p>Reigning MVP <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/94699" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/94699">Josh Allen</a> doesn't support banning the tush push just because a few teams are good at running it.</p><p>"I'm a big believer in if you can't stop it, keep running it," Allen told <a href="https://www.si.com/nfl/josh-allen-on-backing-up-mvp-season-tush-push-ban-new-business-deal">Sports Illustrated's Liam McKeone</a>.</p><p>The Green Bay Packers submitted a proposal to ban the tush push in February, citing player safety issues and competitiveness. Only 10 of the 32 teams voted against banning the play, with the proposal needing at least 24 votes to pass. It included language that would have prohibited pushing or pulling a ball carrier in "any direction at any time" and helping to lift a runner. The measure would have also prevented offensive players from assisting a runner, except when individuals are blocking opponents.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>"I think that there's a few teams that do it better than others, but then you look at a few teams that try to do it, and it doesn't have the same success," Allen said. "And just because a couple teams do it better than others, I don't feel like it should be banned."</p><p>Allen added: "If you don't like it, my advice is to stop it."</p><p>While Allen is in favor of the play, Bills head coach Sean McDermott has voiced concern about it due to the health and safety of players.</p><p>"It's two things. It's force, added forced, No. 1. And then the posture of the players, being asked to execute that type of play. The Philadelphia Eagles have run it more than any other team since 2022, executing the play 122 times, followed by Buffalo (74), the Pittsburgh Steelers (55), and the Denver Broncos (52), per Maiorana.</p><p>Buffalo's offense has used Allen's 6-foot-5, 237-pound frame to move the chains in short-yardage situations on late downs. The quarterback went 9-of-9 on fourth-down quarterback sneaks and was successful on 20-of-21 QB sneak attempts on third and fourth down prior to the AFC Championship Game, according to <a href="https://www.syracuse.com/buffalo-bills/2025/03/bills-coach-defends-his-stance-on-tush-push-rule-after-fiery-exchange-with-eagles-brass.html">Syracuse.com's Matt Parrino</a>.</p>

Houston is looking to advance past the divisional round for the first time this season.</p><p>Houston made several changes to its offense this offseason. Nick Caley replaced Bobby Slowik as the team's offensive coordinator. He's also entering the first year of a four-year, $212.4-million extension.</p><p>With all of Tua's talent and his new deal, head coach Mike McDaniel says he's reinforced the message that Tagovailoa needs to remain healthy.</p><p>"I, like everyone else, really want him to be healthy," McDaniel said. He was named Offensive Player of the Year after leading the NFL with 2,005 rushing yards and averaging an astonishing 125.3 yards per game. He racked up 499 yards and five touchdowns in the postseason during the Eagles' Super Bowl LIX title run.</p><p>Philadelphia made Barkley the league's highest-paid running back by inking him to a two-year, $41.2-million extension in March.</p><p>"I'm grateful to my teammates, coaches, and Eagles fans for their support," Barkley said, according to <a href="https://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/news/saquon-barkley-madden-nfl-26-cover">team reporter Chris McPherson</a>. <p>The Minnesota Vikings announced Friday that the team has agreed to a multi-year extension with general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah.</p><p>Adofo-Mensah was set to enter the final year of a four-year contract he signed after being hired in January 2022. Minnesota also signed head coach Kevin O'Connell to an extension in January. </p><p>"This organization means so much to me, and I've always believed in what we're building here. From the ownership to the incredible staff, there's a true commitment to creating a winning culture with the goal of competing year in and year out," Adofo-Mensah said.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>"Kwesi's leadership, vision and collaboration with our coaching staff has positioned the Minnesota Vikings for sustained success," Vikings owner and president Mark Wilf said in a statement. </p><p>Wilf added: "We are extremely excited to continue this journey with Kwesi in this role and confident in the direction he and Kevin are leading our organization."</p><p>The Vikings have made two playoff appearances and own a 34-17 record over the past three seasons with Adofo-Mensah in the front office and O'Connell on the sideline. Minnesota went 14-3 last season and finished second in the NFC North.</p>

<p>Late Mississippi State head coach Mike Leach will soon be eligible for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame.</p><p>The National Football Foundation <a href="https://x.com/NFFNetwork/status/1928106528437064014">announced</a> Thursday that coaches with a career winning percentage of .595 or higher will now be considered for enshrinement, beginning with the Class of 2027. Leach's .596 win percentage fell short of the Hall of Fame's previous minimum of .600.</p><p>All other requirements, including a service of 10 years minimum as a head coach, remain unchanged, per the NFF.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Leach posted a 158-107 record over 21 seasons at Texas Tech (2000-09), Washington State (2012-19), and Mississippi State (2020-22).</p><p>Leach, 61, unexpectedly died on Dec. 22, 2022. Belovedly referred to as "The Pirate," he's credited with constructing one of the most prolific versions of the Air Raid offense at the collegiate level.</p><p>Les Miles and Jackie Sherrill are other former coaches that'll become eligible for the College Football Hall of Fame following the new eligibility rules.</p>
