The New York Yankees placed outfielder Cody Bellinger on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain, the team announced Sunday.
Bellinger left Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies in the eighth inning after trying to leg out a double. After the contest, he downplayed concerns about the injury.
"I've never had a hamstring (injury) before," Bellinger said, according to MLB.com's Bryan Hoch. "It just feels a little tight. I really don't think it's anything too serious. I feel like it's on the smaller side."
Bellinger joins teammates Aaron Judge (rib) and Giancarlo Stanton (calf) on the IL.
The 31-year-old Bellinger is hitting .259/.350/.420 with 11 home runs and 53 RBIs in 102 games this season.
The Yankees recalled Spencer Jones from Triple-A to take Bellinger's spot on the active roster.
