New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson is undergoing surgery on his left wrist and is expected to resume basketball activities later this summer, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
Brunson played through the injury during the Knicks' championship run, Charania reports.
The 6-foot-2 guard will require at least two months of rehab following the procedure, sources told SNY's Ian Begley.
Brunson averaged 28.4 points, 6.1 assists, 3.2 boards, and 1.2 steals across 19 playoff appearances. He dropped 45 points in Game 5 of the Finals against the San Antonio Spurs, becoming the fourth player in NBA history to reach the mark in a title-clinching victory.
Brunson's efforts earned him all 11 votes for Finals MVP.
