Georgia and Nebraska banned their teams from scheduling any future games against Texas Tech following Monday's ruling that reinstated the collegiate eligibility of quarterback Brendan Sorsby.

"Based on recent developments, Georgia Athletics will not schedule future contests against Texas Tech until further notice," school compliance director Will Lawler said to coaches and staff in a department-wide memo obtained by The Athletic's Seth Emerson.

There are no football games scheduled between Georgia and Texas Tech. It's unclear if any other fall sports have pending matchups against the Red Raiders.

Nebraska's deputy athletic director Haven Fields hit a similar tone in a memo also obtained by Emerson. The Cornhuskers "will not schedule any contests vs. Texas Tech in any sport. If you currently have a future contest already scheduled, please connect with (athletic director) Troy (Dannen) immediately."

The memos arrived just hours after Sorsby was awarded a temporary injunction by a Texas judge to play this season despite his gambling history, which includes betting on his own team in 2022 when he was with Indiana.

The NCAA filed an appeal following Monday's ruling.

Big Ten officials are expected to discuss a league-wide mandate to not play Texas Tech in any sports, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel. Nebraska is part of the Big Ten, Georgia resides in the SEC, and Texas Tech sits in the Big 12.

Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark said in a statement that the ruling significantly impacts the college sports landscape and creates "concern amongst our membership," per Yahoo Sports' Ross Dellenger.

Big 12 athletic directors are expected to meet Tuesday. Presidents from member institutions are expected to meet this week. The group has the power to penalize members for "actions detrimental to the conference."
