Joe Burrow is tired of waiting for a Lombardi Trophy, so this year he's trying to speak a Super Bowl into existence.
"I'm trying to put it out into the world," the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback told reporters Thursday. "I'm trying to manifest it. I'm trying to show our guys the urgency that I have and that I want us to have as an organization to go and make it happen.
"You can keep pushing it down the road, or you can talk about it now and say, 'This is the year.' I'm tired of saying next year, next year, next year. This is it. Life is too short to keep pushing things down the road."
It didn't take Burrow long to get a taste of postseason action after entering the NFL. He led Cincinnati to Super Bowl LVI during his second season and the AFC title game in Year 3, though the Bengals fell short on both occasions. Burrow and the team haven't been back to the playoffs since then.
"I'm trying to instill some urgency and some intensity in everybody to go be great every day and try to go make it happen," Burrow added.
Burrow, who will turn 30 in December, played only eight games last year due to a toe injury. The Bengals went 5-3 in starts made by Burrow, who threw 17 touchdowns to five interceptions. However, Cincinnati won only one of the nine games he missed.
