The Tennessee Titans are trading four-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons to the Chicago Bears for a blockbuster return that includes two first-round picks, Tom Pelissero of The Ringer reports.
The Bears are sending their first- and fourth-round picks in 2027 plus a 2028 first-round selection in exchange for Simmons and a 2028 fifth-rounder, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The deal marks the first time Chicago has traded away multiple first-round picks since acquiring edge rusher Khalil Mack in 2019, Schefter adds.
The Titans signed Simmons to a three-year, $105.8-million contract extension in June. His average annual value of $35.276 million is third highest among interior defensive lineman, per Over the Cap.
Simmons is regarded as one of the best defensive tackles in the NFL. The 29-year-old is coming off a career-high 11-sack season in 2025, which earned him first-team All-Pro honors for the first time.
The trade signals that the Bears are all-in after starting the season 5-2. They're second in the NFC North, trailing only the Minnesota Vikings (6-0). Simmons will immediately boost Chicago's interior pass-rushing unit. Defensive lineman Austin Booker and defensive back Kyler Gordon lead the team in sacks with four each.
Meanwhile, Tennessee (1-6) is on course for another poor season after finishing 3-14 each of the last two years.
A first-round pick in 2019, Simmons has played his entire career with the Titans, racking up 46.5 sacks, nine forced fumbles, and 72 tackles for loss.
