Miami Heat president Pat Riley is playing the waiting game with LeBron James just like the rest of the basketball world.
"I have nothing, as I think probably everybody else that had an opportunity to talk with him are just sort of waiting," Riley said Monday during an appearance on The Dan LeBatard Show.
"This is a man's decision. You let him make that decision. He has the right to do that. I'm not calling (agent Rich Paul) every day and bugging him. He'll make a decision."
The Heat are one of several teams in the running to sign the NBA's all-time points leader. He's also been linked to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Denver Nuggets, Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Philadelphia 76ers this offseason.
James spent four seasons in South Beach from 2010-14. Miami made the NBA Finals each of those seasons, winning two titles. Riley added Monday that he was hurt when James left Miami to go back to Cleveland.
"LeBron and I, we haven't talked much. But you let go of that stuff," he said. "I was very disappointed (when he left) because I thought we were looking at a dynasty."
James could potentially round out a new Big Three in Miami, joining center Bam Adebayo and the newly acquired Giannis Antetokounmpo.
James, 41, averaged 20.9 points, 7.2 assists, and 6.1 rebounds in 60 games with the Los Angeles Lakers last season.
