Aaron Rodgers will remain with the Pittsburgh Steelers for another season.
The future Hall of Fame quarterback is signing a one-year deal worth up to $25 million to return to the Steelers for the 2026 campaign, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. The deal is expected to have a base salary between $22 million and $23 million, Schefter reports.
After last season, the four-time MVP opted to take some time to weigh his options.
Team president Art Rooney II was initially optimistic that Rodgers would be under contract before April's draft but remained confident the 42-year-old signal-caller would play for Pittsburgh in 2026, according to ESPN's Brooke Pryor.
The Steelers placed the UFA tender on Rodgers in April, ensuring the club would receive a compensatory pick if the veteran signed elsewhere.
Mike McCarthy, who replaced longtime head coach Mike Tomlin in January, will reunite with Rodgers in Pittsburgh after the two previously worked together for 13 seasons (2006-2018) with the Green Bay Packers.
