Aaron Rodgers will remain with the Pittsburgh Steelers for another season.
The future Hall of Fame quarterback is signing a one-year deal worth up to $25 million to return to the Steelers for the 2026 campaign, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. The contract will have a base salary between $22 million and $23 million, Schefter reports.
Rodgers is expected to report to Pittsburgh's OTAs on Monday, per Schefter.
The 10-time Pro Bowler threw for 3,322 yards, 24 touchdowns, and seven interceptions while completing 65.7% of his passes in 2025. He also helped the Steelers capture the AFC North title and propelled them to a 26-24 victory over the Baltimore Ravens in their regular-season finale.
Following the campaign, the four-time MVP opted to take some time to weigh his options.
Despite team president Art Rooney II initially being optimistic that Rodgers would be under contract before April's draft, he remained confident that the 42-year-old signal-caller would play for Pittsburgh in 2026, according to ESPN's Brooke Pryor.
The Steelers placed the UFA tender on Rodgers last month, ensuring the club would receive a compensatory pick if the veteran signed elsewhere.
Mike McCarthy, who replaced longtime head coach Mike Tomlin in January, will reunite with Rodgers in Pittsburgh after the two previously worked together for 13 seasons (2006-2018) with the Green Bay Packers.
Mason Rudolph, Will Howard, and rookie Drew Allar fill out the Steelers' depth chart at quarterback.
The Steelers have fortified their offensive unit this offseason by adding a mix of veteran and young talent. Rico Dowdle, Michael Pittman Jr., and Germie Bernard are among notable additions.
