Los Angeles Rams offensive tackle Alaric Jackson had his two-game suspension reduced Wednesday to one game, NFL spokesperson Michael Signora announced.

Jackson will only miss Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals after meeting with hearing officer Derrick Brooks, who was jointly appointed by the NFL and NFLPA.

The Rams offensive lineman was initially handed a two-game suspension for punching Buffalo Bills edge rusher Bradley Chubb on Monday during a postgame altercation.

Jackson walked toward Chubb and punched him in the face after the two exchanged words. The incident was picked up by an ESPN camera.

Chubb and Jackson were separated by their respective teammates immediately after the altercation turned physical.

"It's just emotions, you know what I mean? Emotional game. It was a close game," Chubb said postgame. "And you know, they always catch the second guy. So, I let him swing. And then my teammates held me back, and I just chilled."

Chubb shared further details on Wednesday about what led up to Jackson punching him.

"I've heard I was talking about his mom. That's not true at all," Chubb told reporters, including ESPN's Nick Suss. "I said, 'We're gonna see y'all's ass again. And when we see you again, all that chipping ain't gonna save you. That tight end and guard is not going to save you.' He said, 'What'd you say?' I said, 'That chip's not gonna save you. The guard's not gonna save you.' And then boom."

Chubb said he's proud that he didn't retaliate with his own punch, but acknowledged his role in the incident. The Bills pass-rusher also said he hasn't heard from Jackson since the altercation.

Jackson will lose close to $1 million by missing Sunday's game against the Cardinals, according to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio.
