The Philadelphia Flyers signed forward Michael Bunting to a one-year contract worth $1.2 million, the team announced Tuesday.
Bunting tallied 14 goals and 33 points in 74 games last season with the Nashville Predators and Dallas Stars. He managed only two points in 13 contests with Dallas after being acquired before the trade deadline. Bunting played in one playoff contest for the Stars, registering one assist.
The Flyers are 0-2-2 to begin the 2026-27 campaign and have been outscored 17-5.
Bunting is coming off a three-year deal signed in July 2023, which carried a $4.5-million cap hit. He was an unrestricted free agent.
The 31-year-old has been traded midseason each of the past three years.
Bunting has 109 goals, 252 points, and 342 penalty minutes in 418 career games over seven seasons with the Arizona Coyotes, Toronto Maple Leafs, Carolina Hurricanes, Pittsburgh Penguins, Predators, and Stars.
Bunting notched a career-high 23 goals and 63 points in 2021-22 with Toronto, finishing third in Calder Trophy voting at 26 years old.
