San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver De'Zhaun Stribling won't return to Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Rams after suffering an ankle injury, the team announced.
Stribling headed to the locker room on a cart in the second quarter after being examined on the sideline. He went down after coming out of a route.

Stribling suffered an ankle injury earlier in the game but managed to return.
Selected 33rd overall by the 49ers in the 2026 draft, Stribling failed to catch a pass and wasn't targeted in his NFL debut.
However, San Francisco has high hopes for Stribling, who drew rave reviews in training camp and caught 11 passes for 109 yards in two preseason games.
Stribling's absence could mean more playing time for DeMarcus Robinson, who scored San Francisco's first touchdown of the season on a 39-yard bomb from Brock Purdy late in the second quarter.
